      I received a ton of positive feedback on my recent post A Simple Guide to Indexing the Books You Read for Evernote.I believe in the art of preparing. You never know when your next opportunity might show up. By indexing and capturing the inspiring stories and quotes you read, you’ll be ready for that opportunity.   Just yesterday I finished preparing the index for my forthcoming first book. For some reason, maybe because it's my first book, I felt like I needed to do the index. In the end, I guess I'm glad I did it, though I don't think I will do it again in the future. Heck, there was.

    Without question, some authors can index their books competently. But many can't or won't want to and will shop it out to a relative, a grad student, or just do a casual job of it. Writing an index is different from writing a book, and the proximity with which the author views the work inhibits creativity with the index. The type of index is dependent upon the type of data you are handling(I do not think I need to explain what a b-tree or bit map index used for).Generally for DW tables we use the normal index(i.e. b-tree index), the variants of b-tree indexes may also be used(if you feel them to be fit in your requirement,but not always necessary).
